A LITTLE ORIENTATION

How to use Listsetter

  1. Collect. Paste a list or import a text file. Prepared banks offers clean starting lists in a new project. Preview before you begin.
  2. Choose. Bank what belongs, Reserve a possibility, Release an entry, or Revisit the decision later. Use Meaning to check the fit of an unfamiliar entry before deciding where it belongs. Swipe cards, use the arrow keys, or switch to list view.
  3. Assemble. Choose entries from your bank for a separate list. Reorder or remove them without changing the bank. List options reveals quantities and optional repeated entries.
  4. Use it. Copy, export, or print your assembled list, your main bank, or the full bank including reserves.

On a phone, Curate, Bank and Your list each have their own view. Tap Project to change the title or open another saved project.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

About Listsetter

Listsetter is a place to collect entries, decide what belongs, and assemble a list of your own. You supply the judgment. The machine keeps things in order.

DOWN THE HALL

It began with a songwriting problem: gathering words from a particular category and arranging them into lyrics. The tools made for that work turned out to be useful even when no song was involved.

The original music workshop is still down the hall. It’s called Lyricsetter.

Around the workshop, the machine is affectionately known as Listenstein’s Monster.
